The children at work

Here are some photos of the children at work in Room 5 and around the school.

Marc enjoys cycling in the playground.

Ethan helps get organised for snack time.

Sophie helped to make frozen smoothies.

Then she took the rest of the Smoothie
to Room 2 to share with friends.

Ethan enjoys the gym routine in class.

We took the plum harvest  from our Orchard in the Senior
playground to  Room 3 who made it into jam.
                                           Making sensory playdough.
Marc practices letter formation.
Callum makes a sad face with
                                             playdough and tries out new
                                             sensory toys.

Much more fun than writing!

Welcome

Welcome to the new Room 5 blog.  We hope to update the blog weekly and the children will be involved in choosing photos and content to share with you.

NOVEMBER
This month we are learning about day and night.  We will look at different things we do and wear in daytime and night time.  As part of our science topic we will learn about the sun, moon and stars.   The Primary 2 children will also be linking changes around us to the four seasons of Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter.

THIS WEEK
All the children enjoyed watching a NASA video about the flares on the sun.  We then talked about the colours we saw, and how the flares shot up from the surface, as we made our own sun paintings. This was a sensory friendly activity as the paint is mixed and applied to paper inside a plastic bag.
Here is a link to the NASA video we watched.

We also read some books about day and night and the moon at daily story time.  The children can borrow these books for reading at home at the end of the topic but meanwhile here is a link to one of the favourites.
